For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1947 Parker 51 Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the India Black Color. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and is now again in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, hood, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand cleaned the Cap & Arrow Clip, Clutch Ring, and 14K Parker NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of fountain pen. This Parker 51 is Full Size and measures 5 3/8" capped and 5 7/8" posted. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

This fountain pen cap, barrel, and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has no dings or denting. The cap has the Feather Arrow Clip that displays no wear. The cap is the Lustraloy/Stainless type. The cap is clearly stamped with, "PARKER" just above the lip of the cap and "Made in U.S.A." on the backside of the cap. The barrel is stamped lightly, "PARKER 51 Made in U.S.A. T7 date for 1947 in the 1st Quarter".

This Parker 51 has the Vacumatic Filling System that has been rebuilt. I have tested the Vacumatic filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill nearly full in roughly 10-13 presses.

The Parker NIB is a 14K fine and writes buttery smoothly! The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .48mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures .45mm on the down and upward strokes and .58mm on the horizontal strokes when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink. Again, I want to stress the nib on this Parker 51 writes so smoothly!

This Parker 51 in India Black is gorgeous and the restoration came out wonderfully. It is a Classic Parker Pen that would make any Black Pen Society member a proud owner. I would consider this Parker to be in Excellent Condition. It is certainly ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
