For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1948 Parker 51 Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Color. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, hood, and barrel. Replaced the old sac with a new, properly sized Pli-Glass Sac. Hand cleaned the Cap & Arrow Clip, Clutch Ring, 14K Parker NIB and the Aerometric Sac Protector. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker 51 is Fullsize and measures 5 3/8" capped and 5 7/8" posted. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

This fountain pen cap, barrel, and hood are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap displays the converging line pattern and has the Gold Filled Feather Arrow Clip. The cap is a 1/10 12K Gold Filled type with no denting. The cap is clearly stamped with, "PARKER" near the cap lip. The barrel is stamped with, "Made in U.S.A. with date code 8 (for 1948) in the 4th quarter".

I have tested the Aerometric filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill full in roughly 3 to 5 presses.

The Parker NIB is dated 1948 and is made of 14K Gold. The actual 14K Parker NIB has a fine/medium point measuring roughly .59mm when measured with digital calipers! When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to medium stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .55mm and the medium stroke measures at .70mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a wonderfully restored vintage Parker 51 Aerometric Fountain Pens that has been completely restored to write like new again. I would consider this Parker to be in Very Fine to Excellent Condition. It is certainly ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
