For your consideration we are offering for sale this Restored 1949 Parker 51 Fountain Pen in the hard to find Plum Color. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, hood, cap and barrel. Replaced the old sac with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the 1/10 12K Gold Filled Split Arrow Cap & Clip, Clutch Ring, 14K Parker NIB and the Aerometric Filling Body. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker 51 is a "Demi" size, which measures 5 1/8" capped and 5 3/4" posted.

This fountain pen cap, barrel and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Feather Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip that displays no brassing. The lines on the Gold Filled Cap are known as "Converging Lines" where the lines start out wide at the base and converge when they meet near the top jewel. Note: just to the left side of the clip there is a there is a tiny ding that measures roughly 1.8mm x 2.3mm and point it out for clarity sake. The cap is clearly stamped with, "PARKER 1/10 12K GOLD FILLED". The barrel is clearly stamped, "Made in U.S.A. with date code for 1949 in the 4th Quarter". I have tested the Aerometric filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill full in roughly 6 to 9 presses.

The Parker NIB is 14K and writes extremely smooth! The actual 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .53mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with an extra fine to fine stroke line. In the writing sample provided, the extra fine/fine line measures at .44mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is one of those vintage Parker Fountain Pens you don't always get a chance to secure in your collection in the Plum color. I would consider this Parker to be in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
