For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1950 Parker 51 Aerometric Fountain Pen & Pencil Set in the Black Barrel Color and 1/10 12K Gold Filled Caps. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, and hood. Replaced the old glass-ply sac with a new, properly sized one. Hand cleaned the Cap & Arrow Clip, Clutch Ring, 14K Parker NIB, and the Aerometric Filling Body. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and to protect the plastic. This Parker 51 is full size and measures 5 3/8" capped and 5 7/8" posted. The Pencil measures 5 1/8" in length. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.
This fountain pen cap, barrel, and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Feather Arrow Clip that displays no wear/brassing. The cap is 1/10 12K Gold Filled type with no denting with clusters of 5 lines that converge into one at the top of the cap . The cap is clearly stamped with, "PARKER" on the lip of the cap. The barrel is stamped, "Made in U.S.A. with date code 50 (for 1950) in the 4th Quarter". I have tested the Aerometric filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill nearly full in roughly 4 to 7 presses.
The Parker NIB is 14K type with a fine point. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .55mm when measured with digital calipers.
This Parker 51 comes with the original box. The box is in fine condition with some staining - not a perfect but it is a Parker 51 designated type.
The Parker Aerometric Pencil is a Cap-activated type. Push down on the cap and the lead will propel outward.
Black with Gold Cap color Parker 51s are classy and sophisticated and this one is absolutely gorgeous with those Gold caps. I would consider this Parker to be in Excellent to Near Mint Condition. It is certainly ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
